A tragedy if Anwar is jailed - Dr Wan Azizah

DR WAN AZIZAH: The prayers are not for Anwar or for me but for the country and its next generation.
Pakatan Rakyat leaders have called out to their supporters to pray for Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim who will know his fate today over his Sodomy II .
In a short speech, PKR president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said it would be a tragedy to the judiciary if Anwar is dragged to court.
"I pray to all Malaysians to continue fighting, not for Anwar Ibrahim, not for for the country and the next generation," she said at a dinner, attended by more than 2,500 of her husband's supporters.
She also called on the supporters to continue praying for him as the test this time will not be easy.
"Please pray. I think the 16, 17 years already too long. It did cross my heart that this time, it be easy. Please pray that we will not be tested anymore," she added.
Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali also called on their supporters to gather and pray for the Permatang Pauh MP to be released today.
He called on them to hold and prayers for Anwar's release.
"After that, we need to work harder. There are many pending issues. The people need to rise and bring changes," Mohamed Azmin said.
The Federal Court is scheduled to deliver its verdict on Anwar's final appeal to set aside his five-year jail sentence for his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, this morning.
Chief Justice Tun Arifin Zakaria, who is leading a five-member panel comprising Court of Appeal president Tan Sri Md Raus Shariff and Federal Court judges Tan Sri Abdull Hamid Embong, Tan Sri Suriyadi Halim Omar and Datuk Ramly Ali, is expected to announce the ruling at 9am.
PKR vice-president Tian Chua in his speech last night, said today's decision can change the country's political landscape.
"Feb 10 is an important date in Malaysia's modern history. Anwar will face court can affect his welfare and well-being," he said.
"We will determine the country's direction. We want to see human rights and democracy," he added.
