A trainee pilot was hurt when a light aircraft of Asia Pacific Flight Training (APFT) flying academy crash landed in Taman Kurnia Jaya, here today.
Kelantan Fire and Rescue chief Mohd Nurizwan Basri said the Piper Warrior II light aircraft piloted by M. Shankar,20, crashed landed at 12.30pm in an open area.
"Shankar, who suffered injury on the legs and head, was rushed to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for treatment and reported to be in stable condition," he told reporters at the scene.
Mohd Nurizwan said firemen also had to siphon out fuel from the aircraft as a safety precaution.
The cause of the air crash was still under investigation.
Meanwhile, Mohd Zairie Ismail,43, said he was doing some household chores when he saw a light aircraft crash landed about 100 metres from his house.
"I heard a strange noise before seeing an aircraft circling over my roof and crash landed in an open area in front of my house.
"I then rushed to rescue the trapped victim before the others came to help and summon the fire brigade," he added.
Blood stains could be seen in the pilot's seat as firemen and officials from APFT flying academy came to remove the light aircraft.
