Transfer orders cancelled, Ali Hamsa confirms MACC officers reinstated
He said after listening to their explanations, he had decided to cancel the transfer orders.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa today confirmed the transfer of the two senior Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers to the Prime Minister's Department, has been cancelled.
Both the officers were transferred to the PM's Department with immediate effect on Friday as police investigated the MACC over purported leaks of purported leak of documents in relation to the probe into SRC International Sdn Bhd, an entity owned by 1MDB.
The police have since suspended their probe into the matter.
Ali said he and Public Service Department (PSD) director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal had met the two officers, Special Operations Division director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and director of its Strategic Communications Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob this morning.
He said the two officers have explained their media statements.
Ali said after listening to their explanations, he had decided to cancel their transfer orders.
“I have decided to cancel their transfer orders to the Prime Minister’s Department and they will return to their respective designations in MACC effective August 10,” he said in a press statement.

Earlier, Astro AWANI reported that the transfer order of the two officers has been rescinded and added that they had reported to work this morning at about 10am.
Their return was given a tremendous welcome by MACC staff, a source said.
Bahri was among the prominent figures involved in the investigation into accounts belonging to SRC International Sdn Bhd and has been very vocal on the arrests of several senior MACC officers since last week.
The transfer letter from the PSD reportedly stated that the two were transferred over 'disciplinary problems'.
