A transgender was fined RM800 by the Magistrate's Court here today for offering sexual service to a policeman two days ago.
Magistrate Mohd Rehan Mohd Aris imposed the fine, in default a month's jail, on Chan Chew Mun, 43, who pleaded guilty to the offence.
Chan was charged with offering sexual service to Lance Corporal Elvis Parikos in front of a shop at Jalan Petaling here at 5.30 pm last Sept 30.
The charge, under Section 372 of the Penal Code, carries an imprisonment for up to a year, or fine, or both, if found guilty.
In mitigation, lawyer Zulkifli Awang, representing Chan, said his client, who is a transgender, had no other job and had to support his ailing mother and other family members.

Chan paid the fine.
