Travellers who are on a 14-day compulsory quarantine after returning from abroad were reminded to wear the given wristband at all times throughout the period of supervision and observation at home.
Director-General of Health Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said action would be taken on any individual who removed the wristband before the end of the observation period.
"The wristband will be worn by the travellers before they return home. It should be worn during the period of supervision and observation at home.
"If the wristband is removed before the observation ends, the individual will be subject to action. The wristband will only be removed by an authorized officer after a period of supervision and observation," he said in a daily press conference here on Saturday.
In addition, they will also need to comply with other instructions including being issued with a home inspection and observation order, the Home Assessment Tool form and ensuring the traveller downloads the MySejahtera app.
The order of home supervision and observation is a directive under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Act 342) where if the individual is found to be in violation of the directives, they may be subject to punishment under Section 24 of Act 342.
