Tuanku Zara conferred title of Raja Permaisuri of Perak

Tuanku Zara Salim has been conferred the title of Permaisuri of Perak by the Dewan Negara Perak effective Friday.

The council secretary, Datuk Ayop Hashim said the decision was made at the 159th Dewan Negara Perak meeting chaired by Sultan of Perak Sultan Nazrin Shah at Istana Iskandariah, Kuala Kangsar, Friday.

Simultaneously, the late Sultan Azlan Shah's widow was bestowed with the title of Raja Permaisuri Tuanku Bainun by the Dewan Negara Perak, Ayob said in a statement.

He said the meeting promoted Raja Di-Hilir of Perak Raja Datuk Seri Jaafar Raja Muda Musa to Raja Muda of Perak while Raja Kechil Besar of Perak, Raja Datuk Seri Iskandar Dzulkarnain Sultan Idris Shah was promoted to Raja Di-Hilir of Perak, both also effective Friday.

Ayob said Raja Azlan Muzaffar Shah Sultan Nazrin Shah was appointed Raja Kechil Besar of Perak effective, Friday.

The meeting fixed Nov 27 as the official birthday of the Sultan of Perak and it will only be celebrated from next year, Ayob said.
