Part of the Tun Dr Lim Choong Eu Expressway and the Penang Bridge here will be closed from 10.30 am to 5 pm tomorrow.
A spokesman at the Traffic branch of the Penang police contingent said the road stretch that would be affected was from the intersection at Jalan Ahmad Nor to the exit to the bridge.
He said the closure was to facilitate forensic ballistics investigation at the scene of a murder which occurred last Dec 1.
"We seek the cooperation from all road users to prevent traffic congestion.
"Please use the alternative routes and follow the instruction of the traffic policemen on duty," he said in a statement here today.
Road users are advised to use the ferry service or the second bridge (Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Bridge) or the road from Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah or Sungai Nibong Expressway to travel to the mainland.
Vehicles coming from the town centre heading to the bridge would be diverted to Bayan Lepas, Gelugor, from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The road would be re-opened at 5 pm.
