All of the signed Citizens' Declaration forms would be forwarded to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah soon, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said.

He said he would convey to the Ruler the sentiments of the rakyat.

"I may not be able to personally carry all these forms myself, but I will take a picture of them and forward it to the Agong and relate to him the sentiments of the rakyat. I will try my best," the former premier told reporters at the Perdana Leadership Foundation today.

Dr Mahathir said about 1.2 million Malaysians had signed the forms so far, which were either distributed by the secretariat or via online.

He said the number had surpassed their one million target.

However, some 253,000 forms had been rejected due to ineligible entries.

"You have to put your name and identity card (IC) number in the form. Through the IC number, we do a vetting process," said Dr Mahathir.

He stressed that the 'Save Malaysia' campaign would be continued until their ultimate goal is achieved.

He noted that people from all walks of life had come forward to make their commitment in signing the form.

"We can do street demonstrations, but when you put it in black and white, that shows commitment," he added.

Among the main agenda of the Citizens' Declaration is to call for the resignation of Datuk Seri Najib Razak as Prime Minister.
