ANKARA: Sirim Berhad and Turkish Aerospace on Thursday inked a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at fostering collaboration in developing the Aerospace Industry ecosystem.

With the MoU, both parties will co-operate in areas related to conformity assessment, quality and standards development, research development and new technology innovations for the aerospace industry, Anadolu Agency reported a joint statement said.

SIRIM Berhad is a corporate organisation owned wholly by the Malaysian Government, under the Minister of Finance Incorporated.

SIRIM Berhad's President and Group Chief Executive Datuk Dr. Ahmad Sabirin Arshad said the MoU would also enable both parties to accelerate the deployment of any advanced technologies relating to Aerospace such as Drone or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle.

"SIRIM and Turkish Aerospace also hoped to develop International strategic technology business framework in relation to aerospace industries and identify the total solution for implementation of Industrial 4.0 Smart Manufacturing project," it quoted Ahmad Sabirin said.

Turkish Aerospace President Temel Kotil also said: "With this development, we aim to contribute to the catalyst of Malaysia's aerospace industry with the several joint projects that would also benefit both parties."

Turkish Aerospace will continue to contribute to the capabilities of the two countries in this field aerospace and defense industry, he added.
