Twelve men charged for allegedly being 'Geng 360 Devan' members

The court fixed June 7 for re-mention of case.
Twelve men were charged at the Sessions Court here today for being members of an organised crime group, ''Geng 360 Dewan''.
They were D. Yasotharan, 37; S. Manimaran, 44; C. Murugan, 41; L. Lengas Seperan, 48; D.Sivanantha, 40; ST Anthony Balan, 40; S.Maran, 35; M. Sathia Tamil Siva, 24; P. Sures, 45; P.Murugan, 28; B. Ravindran, 25; and D.R Yasothanaraj, 37.
They nodded to indicate they understood the charge after it was read out to them separately before Sessions judge Noridah Adam.
No plea was recorded as they were charged under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (SOSMA).
The 12 were charged with being members of organised crime group ''Geng 360 Devan'' at MV Empayer Sdn Bhd at No 1-B, Jalan Perniagaan Masria 1, Pusat Perniagaan Masria, Batu 9, Cheras here between Jan 1, 2015 and April 14, 2017.
The charge is under Section 130V (1) of the Penal Code (Act 574) and punishable under the same section, providing a maximum 20-year jail sentence upon conviction.
Mohamad Mustaffa P. Kunyalam is the deputy public prosecutor while the 12 were represented by Gerard Lazarus and Diar Isda Yazmin Ismail.
The court fixed June 7 for re-mention of case.
