A man riding pillion on a motorcycle fired several shots at one of three cars carrying eight people at Km30.6 of the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) near Puchong Gateway early today, injuring a man and a woman, police said.
Subang Jaya Police chief ACP Yahaya Ramli said the man was injured in the right thigh and the woman, in the right hand, in the shooting which occurred at 5.10 am.
They were sent to the Serdang Hospital, he added.
The police recovered six 9mm shells and a pistol at the scene of the incident, he said, adding that a bullet had pierced a door of one of the three cars.
Yahaya said in a statement that the eight people, comprising six men and two women, were returning to their homes after having been to the home of a friend in Kampung Baru, Batu 14, Puchong.
Suddenly, two men on a black Honda EX5 motorcycle appeared alongside the cars and the pillion-rider opened fire before the motorcycle sped off, he said.
He said the eight people were helping police in the investigation into the incident.
