Two construction workers killed in Pengerang

Two men believed to be construction workers at Petronas Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (RAPID) Project in Pengerang, Kota Tinggi were killed while another was injured when they were crushed by cranes at the site on Monday.
Kota Tinggi district police chief Supt Ahsmon Bajah said the police were still investigating the cause of the 3.45 pm incident.
"The victims, a 24-year-old man from Selangor, died at the scene while a 22-year-old Pakistani national died while being rushed to the hospital and the cases are classified as sudden death.
"Another 24-year-old Pakistani national, who was injured in the incident, is reported to be in stable condition," he said when contacted.
Meanwhile, Johor Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) director Saiful Azhar Mohd Said when contacted, confirmed the incident and said the department was still waiting for the investigations to be completed.
