Two female immigration officers claim trial to 7 CBT charges
Suhana Samad, 35, and Zalita Haron, 39, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to them.
Two female immigration officers were charged in the Sessions Court here today, with seven counts of criminal breach of trust involving Malaysian international passport application fees amounting to RM1,400 last year.
Suhana Samad, 35, and Zalita Haron, 39, pleaded not guilty when the charges were read out to them before Judge Slamat Yahya.
The duo, attached to the Selangor Immigration Department's passport division were jointly charged with criminal breach of trust of RM1,400 paid by seven individuals as application fees for their international passports.
They allegedly committed the offences at the department's passport division, 2nd Floor, Kompleks PKNS here, between June 28 and July 1, last year.
Slamat set bail at RM15,000 each in one surety for the charges and fixed April 27 for mention.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) deputy public prosecutor Mohammed Heikal Ismail prosecuted while the two women were represented by C. R. Selva.
The women were also ordered to surrender their passports to the court.
According to earlier media reports, the women were among four Selangor immigration officers detained by the MACC on suspicion of submitting payment reports with false information for international passport applications.
