Two of three fishermen drowned after their boat capsized and sank upon being hit by waves off the Shahbandar coast in Tuaran, about 50km from here, early today.
Sabah Fire and Rescue Department Public Relations Officer Mohd Affendy K Rahim said the bodies of Mohd Sukrie Hassan, 27, and Hadi Jarin, 25, were found on the coast at 12.38pm.
The boat capsized and sank at about 10.30am and a search-and-rescue operation was launched after the department was alerted at 11.14am, he said.
The fisherman who was saved was identified as Mohamad Norhisyam, in his 30s, he added. - BERNAMA
