Two friends were killed on the eve of Aidilfitri when the motorcycle they were travelling on, collided with a car and several motorcycles at Km8 Jalan Chalok-Telaga Papan here, last night.
Muhammad Zulhelmi Mohmad Zaini, 17, and Mohd Hanafiah Shapi@Shapie, 26, died on the spot in the 11.20pm crash.
The crash also saw Proton Wira driver Mohd Suhaimizan Mohamad, 20, and motorcyclists Amir Salleh,17, and Mohd Amirudin Abd Aziz, 26, seriously injured.
The bodies of the two victims, from Setiu, were sent to the Setiu Hospital while the injured sought treatment at the hospital.
State traffic investigation and enforcement department chief Supt Abd Razak Hasan said the incident was believed to have occurred when the car coming from Chalok collided with a motorcycle coming from the opposite direction.
The collision caused the car to spin to the right before it was rammed by three other motorcycles, causing the riders and pillion riders to be thrown off their machines, he told Bernama today.
