Two friends were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a trailer lorry at Km 83.5 Jalan Kuantan-Maran near Bukit Tajau, Maran early today.
Muhammad Fakhrur Razi Abdul Razak, 21, from Temerloh and Nur Qamarina Abdul Rahman, 21, from Maran, who was also a Universiti Utara Malaysia student, died on the spot in the 1.35am crash.
The victims sustained head and body injuries.
District police chief DSP Mazlan Hassan said Muhammad Fakhrur Razi who was driving the Hyundai car from Temerloh to Maran lost control and veered into the opposite lane before colliding head-on with the trailer lorry.
He said the bodies were sent to the Bandar Jengka Hospital. - BERNAMA
