Two friends sent to the gallows for drugs trafficking

Two men were sent to the gallows to be hanged to death after the High Court here today found them guilty of drug trafficking.
Judicial Commissioner Datuk Mohd Zaki Abdul Wahab handed down the sentence on Mohd Nasir Sahimi, 35, and Mohd Mazwan Abd Aziz, 34, after finding that the defence had failed to raise reasonable doubts against the prosecution case.
"I have considered the defence by the accused and found that it was merely denial," he said.
Mohd Nasir and Mohd Mazwan were jointly-charged with trafficking in 33.8g. of heroin and 48.6g of monocetylmorphine in front of KFC Restaurant at Jalan Teoh Moh Sii, Kulim, at around 1.15 pm on June 14, 2012.
The prosecution was represented by deputy public prosecutor Naizatul Zima Tajudin, while lawyers RSN Rayer and T.Jayaraj represented Mohd Mazwan and Mohd Nasir, respectively.
