Two killed in accident on Karak Highway

A trailer driver and his attendant were killed when their vehicle carrying scrap metal crashed into the divider at KM42 of the Karak Highway while heading to Bentong yesterday.

The trailer was believed to be moving fast before skidding and hitting the divider and a MyVi coming from the opposite direction.

According to a Karak Highway patrol unit, in the 9.25pm incident, Mohd Yusof Mansor, 38, and his unidentified attendant were killed at the scene of the accident.

"Both the trailer driver and attendant were thrown out of the vehicle," he said when met at the scene.

He said a couple in the Myvi were seriously injured and were sent to a nearby hospital.

The accident also caused a five-kilometre long traffic crawl on the highway heading towards Bentong.
