Two killed as cars collide near Johor Bahru

Two men died, and four others were injured after two vehicles collided at KM42 of Jalan Muar-Segamat, near here, today.
In the incident which occurred at about 9 am, the driver of a Proton Wira - Philip Michael Arokia Nathen, 31, and his nephew, Eric Michael Arokiasamy Nathen, 24, were killed.
Philip's mother - S. Philomena, 62, suffered bruises to her forehead, and father, M. Arokia Nathen, 64, broke both his legs.
The incident also caused injuries to Mohamad Haiqal Farhan Mohd Yusof, 24, and Aina Shafiqah Shaidi, 24, who were both in the other car, namely a Honda Jazz.
Tangkak District Police chief Supt Mohad Idris Samsuri said the accident was believed to have occurred when the car driven by Philip had entered the opposite lane into the path of Mohamad Haiqal's car which was heading from Sungai Mati towards Segamat.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
