Two men died and eight other people were injured, two badly, after two vehicles were involved in a head-in collision at Km9 Jalan Sertik-Karak near Bentong yesterday, police said today.

Bentong Police chief Supt Mohamad Nor Mansor said Alif Najmi Guan, 50, of Jalan Haji Ahmad here, who was driving a Perodua Alza MPV, and Ali Bakar Maat, 33, of Felda Sertik, Karak, who was driving a Proton Wira car, were killed in the accident that occurred at 4.50 pm.

The impact of the accident caused the two vehicles to spin several times on the road, he told Bernama.

Mohamad said Ali Bakar's wife, Naziatulazura Abu Bakar, 27, and their daughter Nor Nurin Khairunissa were badly injured. Naziatulazura has been admitted to the Bentong Hospital while Nor Nurin Khairunissa has been sent to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

"Their son Mohd Ali FakrulQayyum Ali Bakar, three, was slightly injured," he said.

Also slightly injured the five family members of Alif Najmi Guan, namely his wife Fatimah Kamarudin, 34; their daughters Farah Nur Adiya, 14, and Aleeya Nur Aisya, nine; Alif Najmi Guan's mother-in-law Siti Meriam Amat, 61, and niece Nor Rabiatul Adaw Yah Mohd Fadzil, one month. They underwent treatment at the Bentong Hospital.
