Two people were killed while three more were injured in a collision involving four motorcycles at Kilometre 4, Jalan Chini-Kuantan at Felda Chini, Pekan, near here, yesterday.
Pekan district police chief Supt Mohd Razli Mohd Yusof said in the 10.15 pm incident, Muhammad Firdaus Mohd Yusof, 18, and a contractor Zakwan Muhammad, 24, died, while two of Muhammad Firdaus's friends, both aged 16 years old, and Zakwan's pillion rider, Saiful Shafinaz Mohamad, 30, suffered injuries.
He said the teenagers (Muhammad Firdaus’s group) were believed to be in a convoy from Felda Chini Timur to Felda Chini.
The crash happened when Muhammad Firdaus's motorcycle got into the opposite lane to overtake a friend and collided with Zakwan.
"Another one of Muhammad Firdaus's friends failed to dodge them causing him to crash into the victims, while another one was injured after slipping off to the roadside in the attempt to avoid the collision," he said in a media statement here, today.
Mohd Razli said the bodies were brought to the Pekan Hospital for postmortem while those injured were treated at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here.
