Two Malaysians are feared to be among the victims in Bangkok blast incident, according to Malaysian Ambassador to Thailand, Datuk Nazirah Hussain.
In a telephone interview with Astro AWANI on Monday, Nazirah said, the identities of the victims will be made known soon.
“Initial reports we received indicate two Malaysians were among the victims. We had yet to get any confirmation.
“We don’t know whether they were among the injured or those killed,” she said.
Nazirah said, authorities have also yet to confirm whether the Malaysians were tourists or residing in Bangkok.
At least 16 people were killed, including foreigners and dozens injured when a bomb exploded Monday outside a religious shrine popular with tourists in the Thai capital, scattering body parts and debris.
The blast occurred at around 7pm local time (8pm Malaysian time), Thai police said.
According to Thai police chief, Prawut Thavornsir, at least 10 Thais, one Chinese and one Filipino citizen have been confirmed to be among the dead.
