Two men were shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle near a petrol station in Jalan Kolam, Luyang here today.
The victims were identified as businessman, Hii Lam King, 36 and Ting Wen Hou, 23 from Sibu Sarawak.
In the 7.30am incident, the victims had reportedly died at the scene after they were shot at point blank range. Another victim, who is the twin brother of one of the victim, escaped unscathed after fleeing the scene.
State Crime Investigation Department chief, Datuk Sallehuddin Abd Rahman said all the victims were travelling in a Toyota Land Cruiser to the city centre when two men in black garments -- on a motorbike approached the 4WD.
“According to preliminary information, the assailants fired eight shots aimed at the side mirror of the 4WD. The 35-year-old driver and the passenger (who was seated in the passenger seat in front) died on the scene while the twin brother managed to escape,” he added.
