Two men feared drowned while kayaking found safe

Two men who were feared drowned when their kayak overturned off the Tanjung Tuan beach in Port Dickson yesterday were found safe in the waters off Tanjung Tuan today.
A spokesman of the Kuala Linggi Maritime 5 District of the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) said Hew Yoong Loong, 61, and Leow Shak Kwan, 54, were found by a search-and-rescue (SAR) team using an MMEA Dauphin Rescue 101 helicopter.
"They were taken to the Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor," he said to Bernama.
It is learnt that Hew and Leow were weak but did not suffer any serious injuries.
Meanwhile, MMEA director-general Maritime Admiral Datuk Indera Zulkifli Abu Bakar said the duo were found about 3.4 nautical miles south of Tanjung Tuan at 8.35 am.
"The SAR team also comprised personnel from the marine police, Fire and Rescue Department as well as Civil Defence Force," he said in a statement.
Hew and Leow were with a third person, Foo Siew Wan, 54, all from Shah Alam, Selangor, and were heading to the Blue Lagoon when the incident happened at about 4 pm.
Foo managed to manoeuvre her kayak to the Blue Lagoon and arrived there at about 7.30 pm.
