Two men were trapped in a car workshop due to a landslide in Jalan Sultan Abu Bakar, Brinchang near Cameron Highlands Sunday.
The victims, Idrus Munir, 43, injured his leg while Mohd Norsofwa Abdul Wahab, 42, was unhurt in the 6.35pm incident.
Idrus was treated at the Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom Hospital, Tanah Rata.
Cameron Highlands District police chief DSP Wan Zahari Wan Busu said the incident occurred when both the victims were having conversation with three other men in front of the workshop.
"Heavy rain caused a hill nearby to collapse and hit the workshop. Three of the men managed to escape but two others were trapped in the workshop," he said when contacted.
He said the landslide also damaged several cars in the workshop while one of those trapped in the workshop happened to be its owner. He said firemen from the Fire and Rescue Station in Cameron Highlands took one hour to free the men.
"Work to clean the area around the workshop is being carried out to bring traffic back to normal," he said, adding that losses were being investigated.
