Two missing children found drowned
The victims who went looking for mussels with their two friends had gone missing after experiencing difficulties during high tide in the lagoon.
Two children who went missing while looking for mussels in a lagoon off the Seri Tujoh beach here Friday were found - drowned.
They were Mohd Faiz Haikal Mohd Firdaus, eight, and Khairul Nizam Zulkifli, 10.
Pengkalan Kubor Fire and Rescue Department chief, Assistant Superintendent Bustan Karudin said Mohd Faiz Haikal's body was found floating at 7.55am Saturday, about 20 metres from the shore.
He said Khairul Nizam's body was found about 10.40am.
"The bodies were found not far from where the duo went missing Friday, while looking for mussels," he told reporters here.
The bodies were sent to the Tumpat Hospital.

Their friends, Mohd Aiman Masoho, 11, and Mohd Fairuz Ikhwan Abdullah, 10, survived the incident.
