The bodies of two out of the six crew who went missing after their tug boat YTC M5 was hit by a merchant vessel about 9.2 nautical miles off Tanjung Gelang last Thursday, were found today.
The first of the two bodies, whose identity has yet to be ascertained, was found by fishermen at 7.30am about 11 nautical miles off Tanjung Gelang, while the second body was discovered by marine police at 10 am not far from the location where the first body was discovered.
Region 3 Marine Police commander ACP Azmi Ibrahim said the second body was identified as Ewan, 26, an Indonesian national.
He said Martin Sembiring, 30, the only survivor in the incident, helped identified Ewan, before the two bodies were taken to Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) here for post mortem.
The discovery of the two bodies today brings the total number of bodies found to three after the first body was found about five nautical miles from the location at 1.40pm yesterday.
Azmi said the search operation to find the other three victims and the wreckage of the boat was ongoing.
