KUALA LUMPUR: Two business premises in Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur were found to provide accommodation for foreign workers they employed without any accommodation certificate.
The Human Resources Ministry informed that in the operation carried out by the COVID-19 Health Screening Programme Special Task Force (TF-PSKC19) on Monday it was also found that the employers have not made any application to obtain the certificates of accommodation.
Besides, the ministry in a statement today said the two premises involved were detected committing several other offences under Act 446 such as overcrowded space and poor ventilation.
“An investigation paper has been opened to enable legal action to be taken against the owners of the two premises,” according to the statement.
The ministry established the TFSKC-19 which comprises the Department of Labour Peninsular Malaysia, the Social Security Organisation and the Department of Occupational Health and Safety.
The operation on Monday was also jointly carried out by the Health Ministry and the Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministry.
