United Kingdom daily The Guardian reported that two men, whose names were on the MH370 passenger list, did not get on the plane, raising possibilities that stolen passports were used.
The first person is an Italian man, Luigi Maraldi who is reportedly living in Phuket, Thailand.
According to the daily’s correspondent Kate Hodal, the Italian embassy in Bangkok confirmed that Maraldi was in Phuket and they are checking whether it ‘may have been a different man with the same name and date of birth’ on the plane.
Maraldi reported his passport was stolen last year.
The second person is an Austrian national whose name was on the passenger list, who also had his passport stolen two years ago during a visit to Thailand.
Austria’s foreign ministry reportedly told the press on Saturday that the citizen, whose name was undisclosed, was in fact living in Austria now.
There is only one Austrian on the passenger list by the name of Christian Kozel.

1. China – 152 including 1 infant
