Two students of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Paka were found drowned after being swept away by giant waves near a chalet on Monday.
In the incident at 5.10 pm, Mohd Solihin Zaki and Khairul Ikhwan Roshim, both aged 15, and three other friends were believed to have gone to the beach to bathe in the sea.
Hasan Basri Zulkifli, 15, said he saw the victims being overcome by waves and alerting the others, rushed to seek help.
A search and rescue team with the help of fishermen located Solihin's body at 6.30 pm and Khairul's, 15 minutes later, about 290 metres from where they had been swept away.
Meanwhile, Dungun district police chief Supt Ahmad Zailani Yaacob confirmed receiving a report on the incident and said the bodies had been sent to the district hospital for post mortem.
