Two luxury cars reported stolen from a showroom in Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Cheras last Saturday, were found in Johor Baru yesterday.
Last Saturday, an Audi TT and a Volkswagen Golf GTI, each worth about RM200,000, were reported stolen from a showroom by a suspect, within an hour.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the Volkswagen Golf GTI was found in front of the Tesco shopping Mall in Skudai while the Audi TT was found in Taman Seri Austin, about 40km from Tesco.
"The two cars were found on the same day. The Volkswagen Golf GTI was not locked when it was found but the Audi TT with a Singapore registration number was locked when found," he told reporters here today.
He said the suspects involved in the two stolen luxury car case are believed to be the same suspects involved in another similar case that involved a Porsche Panamera at Bukit Bintang last October, and assisted by two accomplice.
"Though the suspects involved in the Porsche Panamera case have been released on police bail, they are believed to be active again. We are now looking for three suspects, namely Abdul Raof Abdul Aziz, 44, Mohd Azri Mohd Kassim, 32, and Damanhuri Mohamad, 36," he said.
Ku added that the recent increase in the number of car thefts at luxury car showrooms or service centres was due to carelessness.
