Two students injured after mistakenly beaten up

Two secondary schoolboys were injured after being mistakenly beaten up by several groups of students and individuals involved in a fight at Jalan Wangsa Siaga here yesterday.
In the 2 pm incident, the victims were on motorcycles heading home from their school before bumping into the groups.
The groups suddenly chased and attacked the two students using sticks, helmets and iron rods.
Police arrived at the scene a few minutes later after receiving a call from a resident who witnessed the incident.
Kuala Lumpur Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Zainuddin Ahmad when contacted by Bernama said: "As a result of the attack, the two students suffered head injuries and were taken to the Ampang Hospital."
Zainuddin said following the incident, police arrested 12 individuals at the scene, while another four were held today, all aged between 16 and 18.
According to a police source, it was believed that four groups of students from several schools around Wangsa Maju, Keramat and Ampang were involved in the fight.
He said police were now looking for 51 other individuals to facilitate further investigations into the case.
