Two foreign nationals, suspected of having just committed a robbery, were detained on the Putrajaya exit on the MEX Highway here after their vehicle hit a road divider when chased by police this morning.
The duo sped off in a reckless manner after being spotted by a police patrol in Jalan Syed Putra in the incident at 4.30 am.
Kuala Lumpur CID chief SAC Rusdi Mohd Isa said the suspects were a 21-year-old student at a local college and a 40-year-old visitor, both were believed to be from the Middle East.
"We received early information that the car used by the suspects matched the description of the complainant, namely, the robbery victim.
"But we are still investigating to determine if the suspects actually committed the robbery or they were running because of a different case," he said when contacted.
Rusdi said the suspects were now being treated at the Putrajaya Hospital for injuries sustained in the mishap.
