Ultra sexy experience in lockdown
An unboxing in isolation at home assisted by phantom black and phantom grey felines. - Photo by Astro AWANI
IN the midst of confined life-saving isolation, not many things can spark your days within the same usual and familiar four walls of your home.
From the humdrum online food menu to the same old online work tasks to the all-too-familiar view of the household. Safe but drearily routine, familiar and expected.
Even my black and grey furry felines are barely tolerating me.
So, my revenge was making them my assistants for the review the of Samsung Ultra 5G phone.
This is the latest addition to the Samsung flagship line models that come in phantom black and phantom grey.
I was looking forward to it, yet the anxiety for my RT PCR swab test results was a bit overwhelming too, so to speak.
Lo and behold.
Relatively small, slim black box unboxed
That was my mental and soul saving moment.
Truth be told, the box with the gadget nicely tucked in it was actually a work assignment I volunteered for to break the shackling quarantine monotony.
My maiden unboxing review was heavenly for me.
S21 Ultra 5G Phantom Silver
This is the high-end flagship model for Samsung.
Definitely a high moment for a Samsung worshipper like yours truly -- while coping with the rigid and mundane lockdown.
My experience migrating from that expensive and closed ecosystem American brand to Galaxy S7 Edge several years ago, before I moved up to higher storage and processing power plus functions Galaxy Note 10 Plus last year.
And I was contented. Bigger models came like Note 20 and S20.
I peeked but not swayed.
Stared a bit more at the Fold and Flip models too. Still contented.
But now for better or worse, I am converted, just by unboxing it.
Even the lazy furry assistants can sniff the sexiness.
The box boasts Ultra on the front but even from the size of the box, the sexiness was already promising.
It is sizeable and shapely. In fact, true critics have noticed how slim the box is compared to its predecessor's.
For the amateur me, I just put it side by side with my Galaxy Note 10 Plus box. Aha, just only over half the thickness of my old box.
Once opened, the sexiness is unveiled in a sleek and finely contoured phantom silver finish gorgeous machine.
S21 Ultra 5G: Sexy design with classy finish
Four sexy things of S21 Ultra 5G:
1. Ultra in size, it is sexily contoured and ergonomically slim in hand.
Bigger size is sexy nowadays not just for looks but more for the multiple functions from the smarter and more powerful processing power enabling diverse users' experience.
For me, as a silver generation broadcasting and media professional, the more I can see the better.
However, it must also be a nice fit in my palms. A crucial necessity for when the phone is the camera for pictures or videos, more and more nowadays. Otherwise, even a 30-second video recording can be an irritatingly shaky experience instead of a broadcast acceptable steady shot.
So I really dig the 6.8in QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED display and size which reviewers have remarked as a bit smaller than its clunkier predecessor S20 Ultra.
This phone just nails this for me. Sexy for the eyes. Steady for the hands.
2. Sleek body material with a very classy phantom silver finish.
As smartphones for me are pretty much work tools, my gaze is usually drawn to the aesthetic aspect of the phone. But don’t get me wrong, I am in showbiz, appearances do matter. But practicality is King and aesthetics is Queen.
So, it must be easy on and in my fingers and palm. That steady shot. That just one moment that can be lost forever if you do not capture it exactly on time. I personally feel it should offer adjustability to ensure a snug fit for the hands. It also needs to have enough stickiness to my hands but not too 'Spiderman' sticky to turn it clumsy.
The material chosen not only it is slippery or too sticky, it does not easily smudge too.
Beauty that is not compromised by workhorse like utilisation.
3. Commanding back cameras array creatively integrated into the design
As a broadcast media professional, hands down, the camera is the most important function. Since day one of my career, when you pulled up anywhere with the TV crew in tow, it makes a statement.
Well, this phone does the same with its’ array of cameras at the back.
My research of S21 Ultra gives me this term - 'Contour Cut Camera' housing.
It is quite well-debated before of the S20 protruding cameras housing. Well I do not have insights into that but compared to my almost seamlessly built in Note 10 Plus cameras, the S21 Ultra ones are really prominent.
Commandingly so. I like it.
A very bold and professional presence that makes a statement for me.
Bold. Slick. Cool. Nuff' said.
