UMNO welfare bureau gives food to flood victims

The UMNO Welfare Bureau had started its tour to help flood victims in Kelantan and Terengganu from yesterday, said its chairman Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

He said the tour took off due to the worsening flood situation following incessant rain since a few days ago, and the aid would be handed over to the state UMNO and divisions before being distributed to the affected areas.

"The foodstuff will be distributed to victims at the flood relief centres and those staying at home," he said after delivering aid to 350 flood victims from 150 families at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sri Rantau Panjang 2, here, today.

Also present was Rantau Panjang UMNO division head, Senator Datuk Abdullah Mat Yassin.

Shamsul Anuar said the UMNO Welfare Bureau convoy would go to the Jeli, Machang and Tanah Merah parliamentary constituencies next to extend aid to flood victims. - BERNAMA
