In a bid to get closer to the people, UMNO Youth have identified approximately 15,000 young voters in the Kajang constituency.

Its chief Khairy Jamaluddin said the wing had also drawn up various programmes for them throughout the campaigning period.

Khairy, who is also Youth and Sports Minister added, although the official campaigning period has not yet begun, their election machinery have already begun to develop strategies in ensuring a win for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the Kajang by-election.

"We are fully prepared and will get into top gear once campaigning starts. Our focus will be the youths registered as voters there," he told reporters after attending the "Wheel's For All" programme organised by Universiti Sains Malaysia's (USM) Students Representatives Council here on Sunday.

BN has named MCA’s Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun, who is also party vice-president, as its candidate while Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) announced opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be contesting in the Kajang by-election slated for March 23, 2014.
