The Federal Territory UMNO Youth strongly opposed to the video posted by Seputeh Parliament member, Teresa Kok, who posted a Chinese New Year satire video, recently.
UMNO Youth division chief, Muhammad Rafii in a statement called for action to be taken against Teresa under the Sedition Act 1948 as he claimed that her actions clearly incite hate towards the government.
“This has never happened in the history of our country, where a Chinese New Year video is portrayed in such a manner, especially from a Chinese member of parliament.
“We are also of the opinion that the video clearly shows the true character of Teresa who is trying to instill racism and reject unity amongst the races in Malaysia,” said Mohd Razlan in a statement to the media.
He also stressed that Teresa must be taught a lesson for her rude actions that has planted the seeds of hate in a multi-racial society.
The 12-minute video that was posted on Youtube portrayed Teresa as a Feng Shui host, interviewing three panelists regarding the Chinese New Year and their feng shui predictions.
The panelists in the video poked fun about various issues such as the rising cost of living and the current system of education, amongst others.
