KUALA LUMPUR:Starting this month, more than 500 umrah operators affected by COVID-19 could breathe a sigh of relief after the Saudi Arabian government allowed to receive the pilgrimage in stages.
Saudi Airlines also announced the reopening of 33 tourist destinations from green zone countries unaffected by COVID-19 and successfully dealt with the outbreak.
It is estimated that 10,000 pilgrims will arrive in the country every week to perform umrah.
The ministry also stipulates that only pilgrims aged between 18 to 50 can perform umrah and it is in line with the conditions set by the Ministry of Health.
Each individual must submit a screening test certificate confirming they are COVID-19 negative and the test must not exceed 72 hours before their flight time.
Pilgrims who come from abroad will also be divided into several small groups of at least 50 people at a time.
All activities must be carried out in groups and made by reservation including for certain dates to perform umrah and visit the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.
A mutawwif will be appointed for each group and agents in Saudi Arabia are required to comply with all procedures as per the service package offered.Enable GingerCannot connect to Ginger Check your internet connection or reload the browserDisable in this text fieldEditEdit in GingerEdit in Ginger×
