A seven-month pregnant woman was charged in three separate courts at the Ampang Magistrate's Court here today, with 30 counts of cheating over umrah packages involving RM166,300.
Rozaimenurhianti Ahmad Azmi, 31, pleaded not guilty to all the charges read out separately before magistrates Mohamad Izwan Mohamed Noh, Haslinda A. Raof and Mohamad Firdaus Sadina Ali.
On all the charges, Rozaimenurhianti was alleged to have cheated Azrina Fakhrudin, 44, by deceiving her into believing she could provide umrah packages for 55 customers and inducing the victim into handing over RM166,300 from Oct 22, 2015 to March 21, 2016, via 30 transactions.
She allegedly committed the offence in Ampang, among them at Ampang Point, Taman Dagang and Kampung Pandan Dalam here.
The court allowed the accused who was represented by counsel Nik Ahmed Asraf Nik Othman bail, bail of RM60,000 in one surety for all charges and set May 26 for mention.
Earlier, prosecuting officers Norhashimah Hashim and Raihanah Abd Razak offered bail at RM138,000 for all the charges.
Nik Ahmed Asraf appealed for lesser bail as the accused was seven months' pregnant, had three children between the ages of four and eight years.
He said the accused was dependent on her husband who worked as clerk to support the family.
