An unemployed man was charged at the Magistrate's Court here today with killing a 19-year-old girl at a house in Cheras on Nov 19.
Lin Kok Heng, 20, was alleged to have committed the offence against Chan Li Mei, at Blok A-1-14 Jalan 6/95B Cheras Ria Flats in Cheras Utama here between 8 pm to 9 pm.
The charge under Section 302 of the Penal Code carries a death penalty upon conviction.
However, no plea was recorded.
Magistrate Siti Radzeah Kamarudin set Feb 2 next year for re-mention of the case pending post mortem and chemistry reports.
Deputy public prosecutor Nor Diana Nor Azwa prosecuted, while Lin was not represented.
Chan, believed to have been abused for some time, was found dead in the house on Nov 19 with serious injuries on her face and body, as well as wounds, believed to have been inflicted with a hot iron, on her legs.
