An unemployed man was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today with the murder of three family members last month.

The man was charged with murdering Hassan A. Wahab, 70; Mariah Baharim, 60; and Muhammad Taufeq Hassan, 21, at a house in Jalan Sidang Said, KM7.2 Bertam Malim here between 5.50 am and 6.15 am last Aug 25.
The charges, made under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carry the death sentence upon conviction.
He was also charged with two counts of attempted murder on Noor Haslinda Diyana Hassan, 25; and Nur Aqedah Aeina Hassan, 24, at the same place, time and date.
The charge, under Section 307 of the Penal Code, provides an imprisonment for life or for 20 years.
Norina set Oct 7 for mention pending the chemist and post-mortem report of the victims.
Deputy public prosecutor Lee Chee Thim prosecuted, while Luqman Hadi was unrepresented.
