Unemployed man jailed 13 years, whipping for armed robbery at cyber centre
He was ordered to serve the sentence from the date of arrest, which was last April 4.
An unemployed man was sentenced to 13 years' jail and nine strokes of the cane by the Sessions Court here today for armed robbery.
Judge Mohammed Mokhzani Mokhtar handed down the sentence on Wira Doni Riduan, 33, after finding the man guilty of the charge.
Wira Doni, who has a nine-year-old child, was charged with committing the robbery, when armed with a machete, on one Sim Hock Beng, 39, who was robbed of RM1,000 and a handphone, at a cyber centre at Pelangi Damansara, near here, at 1 am on April 4 this year.
He was ordered to serve the sentence from the date of arrest, which was last April 4.
The prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor V. Suloshani, while Wira Doni was unrepresented.
