The KAFA Class Assessment Test (UPKK) for ADAB I and II subjects scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed to a later date.
Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha, in a media statement Tuesday night, said this followed the Education Ministry's announcement on the closure of all schools in Langkawi for another day on Wednesday due to haze.
"As such, the UPKK for the two subjects involving 207,343 candidates coordinated by Jakim nationwide on Wednesday, are postponed to a date which will be announced later," he said.
He said it was hoped that all agencies involved in implementing the test could take appropriate action following the new directive.
Earlier Tuesday, Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid announced that all schools across the country would re-open Wednesday except in Langkawi where the Air Pollutant Index (API) was still at an unhealthy level.
As at 7pm, the API reading in Langkawi was 158.
