UPSR: Education Ministry should find ways to overcome incident - PAGE
PAGE CHAIRMAN: This was an embarrassing situation and should not be taking place especially as it involves children aged 12-years-old.
The Education Ministry and teachers should take full accountability and responsibility over the leak of the Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) papers this year.
Chairman of the Parent Action Group for Education (PAGE), Datin Noor Azimah Abdul Rahim said this was an embarrassing situation and should not be taking place especially as it involves children aged 12-years-old.
“What are the implications and risks in the future on other examinations if the UPSR papers itself is leaked?” said Azimah to Astro AWANI on Thusday.
Meanwhile, the Yang diPertua of the Convent Bukit Nenas 2 Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) Datin Seri Ismalina said such incident could also cause emotional scaring to the children.
She also said that a special committee should be created by relevant authorities to investigate the incident.
This was also echoed by the Yang diPertua of Sekolah Kebangsaan Wangsa Maju Zon 10 Parents and Teachers Association (PTA), Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Hamid who said parents should play a vital role in calming their children.
“As a father myself, I accept this situation and want other parents to continue motivating their children to be patient in facing the exams again at the end of this month,” said Mohd Suhaimi.
He added that a solution to this incident should be found soon.
