Use mandate to develop Perak -- Raja Nazrin

The Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah has asked the newly-elected state government to use the mandate given by the people to develop Perak into a prosperous state.
He said every successful candidate in the 13th General Election (GE13) was entrusted with the responsibility to carry out the trust and accountability with integrity.
With the people's verdict in, he advised all political parties to show mutual forgiveness and strive to unite the people in an effort to build a sovereign independent country which was prosperous and peaceful.
"During the campaign, the contenders had resorted to various means and approaches to gain the support of voters. Perhaps, offensive words and actions had been levelled against each other," he said at the swearing-in ceremony of the Perak menteri besar at the Iskandariah Palace here today.
Congratulating the winning candidates, Raja Nazrin said as they had gained the trust of the people, they should not take it lightly.
"From my understanding, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir has gained the trust most of the members of the state legislative assembly to assume the post of the Perak menteri besar.
"I wish to congratulate Zambry, who has earned the consent to shoulder the trust and responsibility as the menteri besar of my government," he added.
Raja Nazrin said he was thankful that the just concluded GE13 had accorded victory to all quarters who have shown maturity in the electoral process which culminated in the formation of the democratically-elected government
Meanwhile, Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir was today appointed the 12th Perak menteri after receiving the mandate through a simple majority in the just concluded 13th General Election.
Accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Saripah Zulkifli, he took his oath of office before the Regent of Perak, Raja Dr Nazrin Shah at the Istana Iskandariah here at 10.45am.
Clad in black baju Melayu, Zambry then signed an appointment letter witnessed by Ipoh High Court judge Datuk Zainal Adzam Abdul Ghani and State Secretary Datuk Abdul Puhat Mat Nayan.
