Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) has earned accreditation from AACSB International, the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting.
“Attaining the AACSB Accreditation — a feat which required us to bring our best to the fore — is but the start of our assuming the more exacting responsibility of maintaining a very high standard in business education.
“It is an expression of our high commitment to excellence on various fronts. This recognition by AACSB International is inestimable and will provide UUM vast opportunities to spread our wings further,” said UUM vice chancellor Prof Dr Mohamed Mustafa Ishak in a statement.
Achieving accreditation is a process of rigorous internal review, engagement with an AACSB assigned mentor, and peer review.
During the multi-year process the school focuses on developing and implementing a plan to align with AACSB’s Accreditation standards.
AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programs.
Currently there are 777 business schools in 52 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation.
