Various government programmes achieved through NTP - Ministers

The 2015 annual report of the National Transformation Programme (NTP) proved that the government had succeeded in raising the living standard of the people and brought prosperity to the country.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the government would continue with the NTP in future to ensure that no one was left out of the mainstream of development.
"The NTP has succeeded in changing the life of the lower income group to receive lucrative income through the various programmes provided by the government," he said.
He disclosed this to reporters in his reaction to the prime minister's speech on NTP 2015 at Angkasapuri, here Tuesday night.
The prime minister launched the NTP 2015 annual report at Angkasapuri which was aired live by Radio Televisyen Malaysia.
Liow said the NTP had not only raised the people's living standard but also prospered the country through various programmes to facilitate the people in conducting business.
International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said many foreign countries wanted to learn how the Malaysian government developed the country through its transformation programmes.
"Countries such as Tanzania, Oman and Saudi Arabia are impressed with Malaysia's success in improving the living standard of its people and at the same time developed the national economy to an encouraging level," he said.
In this regard, Mustapa said his ministry would always work hard in ensuring that Malaysia achieved a good economic position and through the NTP many government programmes had proven to be successful in taking Malaysia to achieve a developed nation status by the year 2020.
