Various plans to ensure sufficient water supply in Negeri Sembilan until 2045 - MB
Also being planned, he said, were two bunded storage areas.
The state government, through Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan (Sains), has various plans in ensuring sufficient water supply in the state until 2045.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said among the plans were the building of phase two of the Sawah Raja Water Treatment Plant (LRA), phase two of LRA Ngoi-Ngoi and phase two of the Triang Water Supply Scheme.
He said these projects were aimed at meeting the demand from domestic and industrial consumers as well as the Malaysia Vision Valley (MVV) project.
Also being planned, he said, were two bunded storage areas, namely at downstream Sungai Linggi and Sungai Rembau, with supply capacities of 300 million litres per day (MLD) and 200 MLD, respectively, together with the LRA.
"We will also be upgrading the water pipe network system and build balancing ponds in the districts of Seremban and Port Dickson including MVV.
"Besides that, a bunded storage area will be built at LRA Gemas Baru to overcome the water supply problem during droughts," he added at the state assembly sitting, here, today.
Mohamad who is also Rantau assemblyman, was replying to a question from Datuk Abdul Rahman Mohd Redza (BN-Linggi) on the state government's plans to ensure enough water supply in the state.
MVV is the state government's comprehensive long-term development plan encompassing Seremban and Port Dickson, an area of 108,000 hectares, and will be a catalyst to the state'e development.
It is also an extension to Greater Kuala Lumpur and part of the National Transformation agenda, using the approach of public-private sector cooperation.
