Veteran actor Aziz Sattar dies at 89

Veteran actor Datuk Abdul Aziz Sattar passed away at 2am on Tuesday following a heart attack at the Kajang KPJ Hospital.

The late Aziz Sattar, 89, was rushed to the same hospital on Sunday.

The veteran actor was well known for his character as Ajis together with the Ramlee and Sudin trio through the movie Bujang Lapok, Seniman Bujang Lapok, Pendekar Bujang Lapok, Ali Baba Bujang Lapok and many more.

He directed his first movie "Keluarga Si Comot" in the year 1975.

Following that, he was given the trust to direct several other movies such as Si Badol, Prebet Lapok, Penyamun Tarbus, Setinggan, Tujuh Biang Keladi, Ok and Adik which brought about famous comedians such as AR Badul and Mr. Os.

Aziz Sattar, also known as Pak Ajis, was born in Pekalongan, Indonesia on Aug 8, 1925.

He leaves behind seven children, 19 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a widow.
