Veteran actor Idris Mat Diah dies

Veteran actor Idris Mat Diah, 61, who played the character 'Pak Andak’ in the '7 Hari Mencintaiku’ drama died early today.

News of his death was confirmed by the Malaysian Artistes Association (Seniman) secretary-general Hafiz Nafiah in a statement here, today.

Hafiz said according to Idris' daughter, Alia, her father died at 2.30 am at his house in Putrajaya.

The body will be brought to the Al-Faizin Mosque in Kepong for the funeral rites and then buried at the Bukit Lagong Muslim cemetery today.

Hafiz said Seniman Malaysia extends its condolences to Idris’ family and hoped they would remain patient during this testing time.

Idris had also also appeared in other dramas such as 'Cucu Tauke Beras', 'Menantu Bilal', 'Andainya Takdir' and 'Zahir Tak Terucap'.
